Resources to Guide Common Core Implementation

My Group Genius for Teachers

While this site is an invitation only site in its current form, but it still holds a wealth of information on two key “collaboratives” that are working to develop curriculum and curriculum tools for teachers.

The curriculum tools for ELA are developed using the Literacy Design Collaborative model and are strong, useful, and wonderful.  As you navigate the LDC materials be sure to be exhaustive in the amount of links you click. There is hardly a link that is not worth clicking!  In addition, when this site goes live from Beta testing it should a significant number of model units from which to draw or from which you can add to.

The curriculum tools for Mathematics are currently limited, but the promise of what to is come is powerful.  The thorough introduction to formative assessment is very helpful and connects pedagogical practices with the new marriage between content and practices found in the standards. It provides a link to the Mathematics Assessment Project as models of formative assessment (an amazing site with absolutely wonderful resources!).
